We can also transform your walls into something spectacular by implementing Faux Finishes. Paintman can reliably deliver on the following Faux Finishes:
- Color Washing: A very popular technique that uses different color palettes to liven the appearance of your walls and ceilings.
- Fresco: A marble type appearance that transforms your home into a work of art.
- Parchment Glaze: Parchment Glaze is a variation of the rag roll technique that produces an appearance similar to old parchment.
- Rag Roll Finish: Rag–rolling applies a similar technique to that of sponge finishing, but rather than using sponges, rags are used instead.
- Sponge Like Finish: The most common type of faux finish is created with natural sea sponges by applying one or more accent colors over the base coat.
- Smooshing: A technique that produces a cracked marble type appearance.
- Suede Like Finish: A ragging technique that produces a soft, suede like appearance.

Exterior Painting
Best results start with proper preparation. We have dealt with common (and not-so-common) exterior conditions. At Paintman we prep every area for painting which includes cleaning surfaces, sanding loose or peeling paint, filling minor cracks and repairing larger problems.
Here at Paintman we also employ the finist in Spray technology for painting the exterior of your home. All of our painting equipment is grade A industrial equipment. Equipment matters, and at Paintman we take no shortcuts when it comes to utilizing the best equipment on the market.
You can expect the following when Paintman arrives to paint your exterior:
- Your exterior will be pressure washed to remove peeling chips of paint, bugs, dirt, cobwebs and chalkiness. (If you rub your hand across the surface and pick up a residue resembling chalk dust, you have picked up deteriorated paint. If chalkiness is not removed or primed, the new paint is guaranteed to peel.)
- Your home or business will then be given proper time to dry out (this is a step other painters often rush).
- After pressure washing, certain areas will probably need additional preparation, such as scraping, sanding and priming with a high quality exterior primer. (If the siding is redwood, we use one or two coats of latex stain-locking primer to prevent the wood from bleeding tannic acid.)
- The next step we'll perform is filling deteriorated areas with spackle, caulking, acrylic or elastomeric paints. We can often use elastomeric coatings to fill and repair some deteriorated surfaces that we used to have to replace. We like to use a combination elastomeric/acrylic blend now out on the market because it is less expensive than pure elastomeric, but gives an excellent coverage that gives a better result that often outlasts exterior acrylic paint.
- Only once all of the above mentioned steps are complete will we begin to paint your home or business.
